Parents of children with 22q often feel constantly stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. Despite this, their own well-being is often overlooked.

Traditional support usually focuses on helping parents manage their child’s condition through education and family counselling. While these are valuable, they often only address the parent’s role as a caregiver, not their personal emotional needs. Intensive care demands can affect every aspect of a parent’s life, including relationships, work, finances, and social activities, and may come with feelings of grief and loss.

At 22qMinded International, we recognise both aspects. We provide comprehensive support that not only offers knowledge about 22q but also acknowledges the challenges of parenting a child with this condition. Care4Parents

For parents and caregivers of children with 22q1, we offer the specially designed Care4Parents program. This is an 8-week online mindful parenting course tailored to your needs. It combines education with practical exercises to help you manage the unique challenges of raising a child with 22q, such as handling repetitive questions and differences in behaviour at home and school. We also appreciate that your path is not just about caregiving but also about self-discovery and resilience.

Care4Parents helps you navigate stress, understand its impact, and learn how to respond effectively. We’re here to remind you that you’re not alone in this journey. Join us as we learn, share, and grow together in understanding, love, and mindfulness.

The ‘Feelings in Focus: Guiding Emotional Growth for 22q Youth’ is a valuable 6-week parenting program designed to help you support your children with 22q in understanding and managing their emotions effectively. This program focuses on teaching you the concept of ’emotion coaching,’ which aims to enhance your children’s emotional intelligence. Emotion coaching involves learning how to identify, understand, and respond to emotions in a nurturing and supportive way.

This approach fosters a strong and positive parent-child relationship while equipping you to better assist your children.
