Care4Parents is a psychoeducational mindful parenting program created for parents of children with 22q11.2 deletion & duplication syndrome (22q). Over the course of 8 online, interactive sessions and a follow-up meeting, you’ll explore mindful ways to handle the unique challenges of raising a child with 22q.
Join an English-speaking, international community of up to 12 parents and caregivers who understand your journey. Care4Parents helps you manage issues like repetitive questions and behavioural differences at home and school while building resilience and reducing stress. With daily assignments, group support and optional additional coaching, you’ll gain valuable strategies for parenting your child with 22q.
Program Overview:
- What: 8 live online (in realtime) sessions + 1 follow-up meeting to develop mindful parenting skills.
- Who: English speaking parents or caregivers with a child with 22q (age 0+). Limited to 12 participants, with expert-led guidance.

About the trainer:
Dr. Sasja Duijff is a registered pediatric psychologist and mindfulness trainer with over 20 years of experience supporting children and adults with 22q and their families. She holds a PhD on 22q. Sasja is particularly passionate about empowering parents, this dedication inspired her to develop the trauma-informed Care4Parents training program, which offers essential guidance for families navigating their journeys.
Her 15 years of experience (2003-2018), at the 22q outpatient clinic at the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital in Utrecht highlighted the vital importance of collaboration between specialists and parents. Known for her curiosity, warmth, and analytical approach, she is enthusiastic about meeting families and helping them thrive. As a mindfulness supervisor and teacher, Sasja integrates mindfulness practices into her work, fostering resilience and well-being among the families she serves.
In her role as an educator on Infant Mental Health, Sasja provides a comprehensive range of services tailored to the needs of families. Her expertise covers the lifespan of 22q, addressing issues from prenatal counseling to adulthood, with a focus on stress management, chronic sorrow, trauma, and compassion. Sasja is based in The Netherlands and is fluent in both Dutch and English.
